Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the authenticity of the dim sum, with menu highlights like luscious steamed dumplings and crispy spring rolls sparking joy. The steamed rice with salted fish and pork patty is especially noteworthy and often cited as a rare find in the UK.

The extensive and well-curated tea selection adds another layer of enjoyment to the dining experience, complementing the richly flavored food. Families and groups appreciate the generous portion sizes, making it a good value for money return, especially at peak times.

Many guests also appreciate the diligent attention from staff, enhancing an already delightful experience with their politeness and quick service.

Most Disliked

While the food garners high praise, service issues occasionally annoy patrons. Some visitors report having to flag staff down for refills or additional items, which can detract from an otherwise enjoyable meal.

Occasional inconsistencies have surfaced, such as dish items missing from the bill or less-than-perfect execution on some plates, like the 腸粉 rice rolls, which many criticize for their overly thick skins. Cleanliness too has received mixed reviews, with some guests mentioning lapses in toilet supplies.

Crowds can also lead to a less intimate dining experience, especially during peak hours, where it may feel rushed and busy. For those seeking a quieter experience, visiting during off-hours is recommended.

Suddenly felt like having dim sum, so we picked this restaurant that had quite a lot of good reviews. All the dim sum was really authentic and super tasty — especially the steamed rice with salted fish and pork patty, which is rare to find salted fish this good in the UK. But the 腸粉 rice rolls were a letdown: the skin was really thick and fell apart as soon as you picked it up. Wouldn’t recommend that one.

Food was fantastic. Service wasn’t the best, especially for the service charge. Had to ask for them together things, by being up, ask for drinks by getting up, nobody came to check everything was ok. No toilet roll in the ladies. Such great food, couldn’t be let down by minor details. However was charged for a Mixed meat Fried Rice and didn’t get it. I could easily help this place perfect the service.

The staff were absolutely lovely and polite, gave us wet towels between our courses and were very clean! The food was very fresh and came out quickly, and the restaurant was lovely and cosy. Very much recommend! We got the noble banquet and enjoyed everything that came out.

Day trip to Liverpool and fancied eating in the famous China Town area. This restaurant is just on the edge of it and was REALLY busy, always a good sign. Despite how busy they were, the service was fairly fast. The food is great, good value and generous portions. Will definitely visit again next time we are in Liverpool.

We had a lovely lunch here today. Some of the best/traditional Chinese food we have ever eaten. Food came out quick and the staff were very attentive

I’ve had my fair share of dim sum, and Mei Mei is easily one of the best I’ve ever experienced! The variety and flavours were out of this world. We ordered War Tip, Charsui Bao, Sui Mai, Turnip Cake with XO Sauce (which was AMAZING), Ham Soi Gok, and Fried Beef Rice Noodles—each dish better than the last. The Turnip Cake with XO Sauce, in particular, blew me away. If you’re a dim sum fan, this is a must-try spot. Be warned, parking might be a bit tricky, but there are car parks nearby—you’ll just have to take a short walk. Trust me, it’s worth it! I’ll definitely be back! 🥢🍜

Out of expectation as the portion is very generous, enough to feed 1.5 person for a rice/ noodles dish. The 焗飯is really impressive as a lot of details can be found for this. Fried rice base, instead of plain white rice. A lot of seafood, which has been cooked/ fried and seasoned with flavour. Then the rice is baked for a crispy taste.
